Africa complete SH Slim Lights

Mauritius.jpg

ENGLISH

Africa includes all countries of the continent, Madagascar, Mauritius and the Canary Islands.

It is a "surprise egg" for you, because it was born from an attempt to work the whole continent. The basic data has a size of 80 GB, which has to be sorted, filtered, calculated and placed. This required 28 GB RAM and 20 GB swap file. The calculation took almost three nights in which the PC ran through. What comes out I knew only afterwards and was glad that it worked 100%.

But Africa is also the thanks to the developers who build addons there little by little! With light it is twice as much fun.

So far I had with all light solutions so my problems. Some were not perfomant, others were limited to the oxyfuel and / or the LOD radius.

A solution that does justice to everything is probably not achievable. Therefore I have limited myself to an optimum. As a result, the lights provide a wide radius of visibility at low frame loads.

The lights are suitable for all kinds of sceneries. The best combination is the Open LC lights from OrbX. Please do not switch on the lights of FTX Central! (The switch can be found under OrbXlights). The SlimLights also run solo without third party software.

The SlimLights are based on data from OSM and are therefore available everywhere correctly. Of course there are errors where OSM does not provide data (and that's not little) or where the data is simply not correctly tagged.

In Prepar3D v4 (and only with this simulator the addon is compatible) the use of OrbX Vector provides the most accurate result besides OLC. However, it cannot be avoided that there are lights even where the simulator does not provide roads, but real lights exist. Such correction work would neither be feasible for me, nor would it be in proportion to the effort and benefit.
